The citation heralds Ned\u2019s work in thwarting the Trinity barge canal, fighting against clearcutting of forests, and work establishing public park lands. The team at Ned Fritz Legacy insists now that it be celebrated every year. No better way to honor Ned than a walk in the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Come walk the soft-surface (natural) trail segments of the Ned &amp; Genie Fritz Texas Buckeye Trail to the Trinity River. The Legacy team of Kristi Kerr Leonard and Amy Martin will be joined by Eileen McKee and Michael McKee, the Fritz\u2019s daughter and grandson (tentative).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along the 2.5 mile round-trip, view the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Saturday workday team\u2019s habitat restoration efforts. <a href=\"https:\/\/volunteersignup.org\/KRDLE\">Join their efforts<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This amble recreates the trail\u2019s chapter in <a href=\"https:\/\/Wild-DFW.com\/\"><em>Wild DFW: Explore the Amazing Nature Around Dallas-Fort Worth<\/em> <\/a>(Timber Press).
