Take an after-hours walk in the Full Moon light with me at Cedar Ridge Preserve — a rare opportunity to be there without crowds.

First a little poetic educational Moon spiel: how the lunar phases are formed, how they affect our mood, and shape wildlife’s activities. WIld DFWs will be available for sale and signing.

Then off we go to the Prairie Trail and watch dusk fall while we look for insectivores and bats hunting for food. We’ll chat about the crepuscular hour and why it’s prime time for watching wildlife.

Then once it’s dark, with the Moon well above the horizon we’ll do a moonwalk loop, with a stop midway at an observation tower. Along the way, we’ll discuss the positive qualities of darkness and how we’ve lost touch with the night.

Plus plenty of Moonshadow dancing and Moon song singing. Bring ultraviolet lights to see lichens glow!
