Message from KERA:
“You’re invited to an exclusive screening and panel conversation presented by KERA, set in one of North Texas’ most unique natural spaces.

Date: Sunday, 4/19/26
Time: 11am-1pm
Location: Trinity River Audubon Center

Join us for a special screening of Henry David Thoreau, a new PBS documentary executive produced by Ken Burns and Don Henley that explores the life and legacy of the 19th-century writer, naturalist and philosopher.

The film examines enduring questions about how to live an authentic life, our relationship to nature and the role of the individual in society — ideas that remain deeply relevant today.

This event will take place at the Trinity River Audubon Center, a 120-acre urban nature preserve built on reclaimed land and now home to diverse wildlife, scenic trails and a vibrant hub for environmental education and community gatherings.

The event will be comprised of a 25-30 min preview screening of the documentary followed by a moderated panel discussion and finally a guided nature walk at the Center. Our core engagement theme for the project will focus on communion with nature and environmental stewardship.”
